This small island off Perth, Western Australia, was the venue for a series of relaxacons called Ratcon (fl. early 1980s; the island was named by Dutch sailors mistaking the endemic quokka marsupials for rats).

Not only have there been joke suggestions of "Ratcon for Natcon", but Rottnest Island also received write-in votes in Worldcon site selection intermittently since 1983, peaking at 3 in 1999 and appearing as late as 2019.
