(1879[1] – )
W. S. Houston was a fan from Greensboro, North Carolina active from (presumably) the 1930s into at least the 1960s. He is given as a member of First Fandom in First Fandom Magazine #8 (February 1963) and is listed in the second (1944) edition of Walt Daugherty's Directory of Fandom but not in the first. He was also a member of the Southern Fandom Group, the Burroughs Bibliophiles and the N3F, and of Torcon, NorWesCon and Nolacon.
In Pooka #9 (December 1959), Don Ford wrote:
W. S. Houston is 80, according to his membership application for First Fandom. Lynn Hickman says he has one of the finest collections he's seen for a long time. It's my understanding that he is still a practicing lawyer. Think of all the changes he has seen in his lifetime.
