"The Harp That Once or Twice" was a 1951–91 column by Walt Willis that debuted in Lee Hoffman's Quandry and later ran in Oopsla!, Warhoon, Quark, and Science-Fiction Five-Yearly.
The columns were collected in Warhoon 28 in 1978 by Richard Bergeron and -- with the addition of the two later pieces from Science-Fiction Five-Yearly -- published as an ebook by David Langford in March 2023.
The title is a quotation from James Joyce’s Ulysses, which alludes to a poem by Thomas Moore.
