E. Longley was a UK fan from Portsmouth active in the 1930s. He was a member of the Science Fiction Association (SFA), joining in November 1937. He had a letter published in Novae Terrae #26 (September 1938) questioning Francis H. P. Knight's earlier contention in #25 that 'Olaf Stapledon would have written a finer and more cheerful Last and First Men if he could have adopted a Theistic basis':
I wish he would amplify his last sentence, which (though I think shows he has definite ideas as to the attributes of the Creator) is meaningless to me as it stands.
Longley is listed in J. Michael Rosenblum's Directory of Anglofandom (1945) albeit marked 'not in touch at the present moment'.
