(1935[1] –)

Colin Freeman was a fan from Yorkshire active in the 1960s.

From 1960 to 1963 he wrote the fanzine Scribble while permanently resident in Scotton Banks Hospital hospital in Knaresborough. Ron Bennett from nearby Harrogate duplicated the issues. A successor title, Mein Ompf, was produced for OMPA.

Freeman's 'Scribblings' column topped the Skyrack Poll for 'best column' in 1962, while Scribble placed 8th in the 'best British fanzine' category for 1962 and 6th for 1963 while Freeman himself placed 5th and 4th respectively in the 'Best British Fanwriter' category.

He was the intended beneficiary of the Colin Freeman Fund, a fan fund to enable him to attend Loncon II, the 1965 Worldcon. The fund was a 'a financial success but a practical failure'[2] as sufficient funds were raised but Freeman was not well enough to make the trip.
