A fanzine published by John Purcell with 54 issues 2007 through present (December 2022). Cover artists have been Taral Wayne, Brad Foster, Ditmar, Steve Stiles, Maurine Starkey, Valerie Purcell, Alan White, and others. A genzine (general interest science fiction fanzine), Askance is published on a roughly quarterly schedule and appears mostly as an electronic fanzine, although print copies are sometimes produced and mailed. In the summer of 2013, it was joined by a small, paper-only sister fanzine, Askew, which appears anywhere from 5 weeks to three months apart, depending on how busy Purcell is. Life has a tendency to dictate life's duties, and producing fanzines definitely is impacted by Life Itself.
