(1912 -- 2002)

Charles Martin "Chuck" Jones was an American animator, cartoon artist, screenwriter, producer, and director of animated films.

Jones directed many of the classic short animated cartoons starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote, Pepé Le Pew, Porky Pig and a slew of other Warner Bros. characters.

Three of these shorts (Duck Amuck, One Froggy Evening, and What's Opera, Doc?) were later inducted into the National Film Registry.

Awards, Honors and GoHships:

From 2001 to 2002 the Cartoon Network aired The Chuck Jones Show which featured shorts directed by him. The show won the Annie Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Animated Special Project.

Jones won other awards, including an Inkpot Award in 1974 and a Forry Award in 1996.
