The 2024 Hugo Awards for works disseminated in 2023 selected by members of Glasgow 2024, the 82nd Worldcon, were presented on Sunday August 11.
The final voting ran from (???) to 20 July, “55 years to the minute after Apollo 11 successfully [sic!] landed on the moon”.
Several categories were clearly influenced by the 2023 Hugos scandal, including the the disqualification of 377 fraudulent ballots announced on 22nd July.[1] The accompanying statement said:
We are aware of two previous occasions when it became known to the public that multiple Hugo nomination voting by or on behalf of a single individual had taken place, the well-known cases of 1960 and 1989.
