Tom Barber was an artist who did numerous dust jackets and covers for SF/fantasy paperbacks. Beginning in the 1970s, he participated in running many conventions in southeastern Michigan.
Barber was the founding chair of ConClave I in 1976. He co-chaired ConClave II in 1977 and ConClave VIII in 1983. He also chaired ConClave XX in 1995, ConClave XXV in 2000, and Perpetual ConFusion in 1986. He was a member of the Detroit in '85 NASFiC bid committee and the Dorsai Irregulars. He died from Covid-19.
