The 7th World Fantasy Convention was held at The Claremont Hotel in Berkeley, CA in 1981. The Guests of Honor were Alan Garner (who did not appear for a personal reason), Peter S. Beagle, and as Guest Artist, Brian Froud.
The theme was 'Mark Twain, Jack London, Ambrose Bierce, Clark Ashton Smith", Karl Edward Wagner was toastmaster and it was chaired by Jack Rems and Jeff Frane.
Amusingly, this convention announced a ban on unicorns in the Art Show.
