Eastercon 23, Mancon 4, Chessmancon, was held March 31-April 2, 1972 (Easter weekend) in Chester, UK. The GoH was Larry Niven. While the name was chosen to honor both Chester, where it was held, and Manchester (where the committee lived), the committee also added a chess tournament to honor the name!
The committee was Tony Edwards, Harry Nadler, Bill Burns, Chuck Partington, Norman Shorrock, Dave Britton, Eddie Jones.
