The Time Machine was a fanzine produced by Gordon Mack, Jr from Lake Arthur, Louisiana around 1947–8. Its first issue was reviewed by Rog Phillips in his 'The Club House' column of Amazing Stories (January 1948). After noting that the editor's address was a little indistinct, and offering the pro-tip:

If at any time your address is printed incorrectly, what you should do at once is send a change of address to the P.O., giving the incorrect address as your old address, and your right one as the new one.

He continued:

An unframed portrait of Rotsler on page ten is the high point. Contents are excellent, topped by a satire by Joe Kennedy. Considering that hektograph goo melts so easily, and it's that hot in Louisiana right now, I can’t find the heart to comment unfavorably on the quality of printing. Nice going, Gordon.

Fantasy Times #68 (August 1948) said:

The first attempt at publishing this fan mag failed because of the lack of fan support! But it will make a new appearance Aug. 15 as a mimeoed magazine of 16 pages. The first ssue will contain a poem by D. H. Keller, a story by Con Pederson, Illos by Fried, Cockroft, and Manning. Only 50 copies will be published. Write immediately. 10¢ per ish or 3 issues for 25¢. Published bi-monthly.

It was likely that or a later issue that was described by Lin Carter or Bill Paxton in Spaceteer #3 (Winter 1948–9):

Tho the printing and artwork could stand considerable improvement, the material by Joke, Con Pederson, Ricky Slavin, and (hrummph) me [unclear whether this is Carter, Paxton or both], is quite good.
