A kind of cosplay event, in Regency garb.
Let’s go to the Ball, Mr Darcy.
Starting in the 1960s, a number of fans led by Bruce Pelz became interested in the English Regency and particularly the works of Georgette Heyer. They set up the Almack's Society for Heyer Criticism, and Regency dances became a fixture at Worldcon and some larger regionals. Sometimes a Georgette Heyer Tea was also run.
