MidSouthCon 27 was held March 20–22, 2009, at the Whispering Woods Conference Center in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Author GoH: Mike Resnick, Artist GoH: Vincent Di Fate, comics GoH: John Ostrander, gaming GoHs: Jolly Blackburn and Mark Plemmons, Filk GoH: Wild Mercy, fan film creator John Hudgens, Science GoH: Stanton Friedman, editor Ann VanderMeer, Special Guest: Jeff VanderMeer. The toastmaster was Jane Fancher. Attendance was about 1100 and it was chaired by Eric A. Groff and Jerry Hager

The Outstanding Achievement Award went to Dana Bridges & Greg Bridges.
