(???? – )
Louis C. Smith, a BArea eofan, was a member of the Eastbay Science Correspondence Club (which appears to have been related to the SCC, a proto-fannish organization) in 1928 in Berkeley, CA. He was an early bibliographer and in the 30s kept a card index on more than a thousand books.
He wrote letters and articles to fanzines such as The Fantasy Fan, The Science Fiction Critic, and The Phantagraph and had columns in Helios and Tesseract. With Jack Riggs, he published the fanzine Tellus and the Unknown Index, a bibliography and index to Unknown.
In the early ’40s, the local SF club met weekly in his house.
