(May 29, 1928 – March 3, 1985)

Cyril Emmanuel George Bonfiglioli was an antiquarian bookseller and the editor of the prozine Science Fantasy (later renamed Impulse and then SF Impulse) from June 1964 September 1966 (issues 65 to 81).

He was described by Brian Aldiss in Relapse 19 (Spring 2011) as "a bonfire of knowledge, a bracing companion, an adroit drinker." Rob Holdstock writing in Wrinkled Shrew described Bonfiglioli's attendance at the conference of World SF: An Organization of SF Professionals in Dublin in September 1976:

It was during this lecture that Kyril Bonfiglioli made himself known to me, when he slipped into the row in front and seated himself next to Maggie Noach, who hustles me all over the world. In a loud and incredibly cultured voice, at a very quiet moment in the lecture, Bon cried "MAGGERS! What a JOLLY treat to see you!" Later I heard him cry, "BOBBERS! So nice, so nice." Whenever I saw him I listened carefully, longing for him to recognise Nick Webb or someone. It would have been a treat, but it never occurred.
