A Florida fan active from the 1930s through the 1960s, Joe A. Christoff attended the First Worldcon, where he was a photographer for Fantasy Fiction Field. He used the pennames Tony Allen and J. T. Thorndyke to publish his fanzine Sphere. He was associate editor of Lore.
He belonged to the Southern Fandom Group. He won a prize for Most Beautiful Costume at the Detention masquerade in 1959.
By 1960, he was living in Atlanta. He may have been related to Fredrick B. Christoff of Kitchener, ON, Canada.
