Harvey Greenblatt, a Philadelphia fan, found fandom as a young teenager in the mid-1930s. He was a member of the Boy's Science Fiction Club and then the Philadelphia Science Fiction Society in the 1930s.
He was killed in France in World War II while serving as a sergeant in the United States Army.
