Frank Richard Stockton was a popular 19th-century American writer and humorist, best remembered for innovative children's fairy tales. While known for such fables as "The Lady, or the Tiger?" (1882), he also wrote sf and fantasy. His pseudonyms include Paul Fort and John Lewees.
