Frank Belknap Long, Jr., was an American writer of SF, fantasy, and horror fiction. He also wrote poetry, gothic romances, comic books, and non-fiction. He occasionally wrote under the pseudonyms of Robert Hart Davis and Leslie Northern.

He was a co-founder of the Kalem Club.

Though his writing career spanned seven decades, he is best known for his SF and horror short stories. He wrote for all the major gentre magazines, including Astounding, Unknown, and Weird Tales. During the 1940s, his series of stories, "John Carstairs, Botanical Detective," was very popular.
