Disclave 5 was a convention held at the Diplomat Motel (now torn down) on New York Avenue near Bladensburg Rd in Washington, DC over the Mother's Day weekend in 1959. Bob Pavlat, who had chaired the revived Disclave 4 listed himself as "Dictator."
A WSFA group (DC in 1960) was bidding for the 1960 Worldcon to be called "Capacon" They blew their war chest of $65.00 on party stuff. WSFA also kicked in its entire treasury of $22.00 insure success. Sixty-five people came and partied, but DC in 1960 still lost the bid. Still, Disclave managed to stay in the same hotel until 1965.
