An sf bookstore specializing in SF, fantasy, mystery and horror located in San Francisco's Mission District. It opened November 3, 1997, at 534 Laguna St., San Francisco, and moved to 866 Valancia St, opening in the much larger new location on May 8, 2001. It underwent a near-death experience in March 2015, rescued by an ongoing sponsorship campaign. Later, it moved to its current location, 1740 Haight St.
The staff includes Alan Beatts (founder), Jude Feldman (general manager), Cary Heater and Jeremy Lassen.
