A Science Fiction Carol

A short (10-15 minutes) play presented at the Clevention, the 1955 Worldcon and based on Dickens' "A Christmas Carol". We do not (yet!) have any written documentation of the play, but Maggie Thompson, who saw it when she was the 12-year-old daughter of science-fiction writer Betsy Curtis remembers that Anthony Boucher was a would-be writer -- a Bob Cratchit-like character. Fritz Leiber took his manuscript. Sam Moskowitz played Scroogowitz. Judy Merril was one of the ghosts -- probably the Ghost of Science Fiction Future. And Forrest J Ackerman was the agent who took 10% of the payment for the two-word story "The End."
We'd love to learn more about this!
