A. W. Gardner
(???? – )
Arthur William Gardner was a UK fan from Warwick active in the 1940s. He was on the committee of Midvention in 1943 and a member of the British Fantasy Society.
In a profile piece in Futurian War Digest #31, R. Rowland Johnson credited Gardner with introducing him to Astounding, suggesting the two knew each other early on, perhaps through patronising what Johnson described as 'Coventry market & its fine book-stall', at least until it was bombed in November 1940. Gardner was a committee member of Midvention and played the organ during the musical session. He was also one of the six attendees of the Midventionette in 1944 and is mentioned in one version of the attendee list for Norcon II but not in the others so it's not clear if he was present.
