E. G. Lane was a UK fan from Rugeley in Staffordshire active in the 1930s. He was a member of the Science Fiction Association, joining in May 1937, and attended the Second British Convention in London in 1938. In its official report he said:
I much enjoyed the day and the novel surroundings of the place of meeting gave one the impression that Time had either moved forward or backwards. It was good to meet in the flesh fellow members who previously had been names only.
