Alan Barclay was the working name of George Barclay Tait, a professional writer of science fiction from the UK active from the 1950s. He attended the Supermancon in 1954.
He was the author of 26 works of short fiction between 1951 and 1961 with most appearing in New Worlds and Science Fantasy, and five novels from Robert Hale Ltd in the 1970s.
ISFDB says that Barclay received a degree in civil engineering, and served in the R.A.F. during the Second World War, working with metallurgy and ballistics.
