Charles R. Tanner

(1896 -- January 9, 1974)

A Cincinnati fan and pro, and one of the founders of The Hell Pavers which became the CFG (see also Founding of CFG.) He was married to Frances Tanner. He wrote professionally before the War and his first sales was in 1930 in Science Wonder Stories. Probably his most famous work was the "Tumithank of the Corridors" series.

He was honorary chairman of the Cinvention (Don Ford carried out the duties). He was co-editor of The National Fantasy Fan from 1946-1947 and one of the editors of The Cincy Report.

He was also one of the charter members of The National Fantasy Fan Federation (N3F) in 1941, and is the subject of a Founding Member article by Jon D. Swartz in May 2017 National Fantasy Fan.
