Charles John Huffam Dickens was an English writer and social critic. He created some of the world's best-known fictional characters and is regarded by many as the greatest novelist of the Victorian era.
His most well-known genre work is probably A Christmas Carol (1843), which has been presented in many media.
He was good friends with Wilkie Collins, another popular novelist of the Victorian era. Collins also produced genre work.
