(???? -- )

William H. Dellenback was a very early Chicago fan. He was a member of the Chicago Science Fiction League and with two other members, Jack Darrow and Otto Binder, planned to visit New York the summer of 1935 to meet members of the New York chapter of the SFL. Charles D. Hornig planned a chapter meeting to take place at the offices of Wonder Stories, but the Chicago delegates arrived a day late and missed the meeting, instead visiting with Hornig, Mort Weissinger, and Julius Schwartz. Had they arrived on time, this would have been a candidate for being the First Science Fiction Convention. He attended Nycon 1.
