Robert Edward Vardeman is an American SF fan and writer. He got his start in writing by writing for SF fanzines, and was nominated for the 1972 Best Fan Writer Hugo Award. He ran for DUFF in 1977.
He is the author of more than fifty SF and fantasy novels. An anthology of his short fiction, Stories From Desert Bob's Reptile Ranch, was published in 2007.
Vardeman is one of the founders Albuquerque fandom (due to a chance meeting with Roy Tackett in a bookstore, the Albuquerque SF Society and of Bubonicon, as SF convention held in Albuquerque, New Mexico and has been Toastmaster at many of them. He was a member of APA-45 and Slanapa.
