(???? – )

H. Gomburg was a UK fan from London active in the 1940s and early 1950s. He attended the Eastercon in 1944 and was a member of the British Fantasy Society (BFS) and of the Cosmos Club, acting as its secretary. He was at one point incorrectly reported as its president.

The London SF Con supplement distributed with Science Fantasy News 12 in June 1952 listed him as a member of the 1952 convention society with an address now in Suffolk. There is however no evidence that he attended.

Note: there are references in Futurian War Digest 34 and British Fantasy Society Bulletin 15 to somebody called "Gompertz" who is also listed in the Directory of Anglo-Fandom for 1945. This seems to be a mistranscription of "Gomberg" or perhaps some obscure 1940s fannish joke rendered incomprehensible by the passage of years.
