(???? – )

John J. Greengrass was a fan and artist from Lowestoft and later Coventry, UK active in the 1950s.

In Post War (Winter 1952) he was reported to be setting up a local group in Lowestoft which already had eight members. He was seeking advice on increasing membership.

By 1955 he'd moved to Coventry. He attended Cytricon II in 1956, and introduced himself to Geoff Wingrove, saying 'I'm practically new to fandom.' Wingrove was surprised:

You could have knocked me down with a zapgun! He was GREENGRASS. He WAS Greengrass. HE was Greengrass. No, surely he couldn't be the Nebula Greengrass? He was!

Professionally, he has over 40 interior artwork credits for Nebula between 1954 and 1959. He also provided interior artwork to Space Times and Triode.

He is listed in Ron Bennett's Directory of Science Fiction Fandom for 1955 and 1956 but not 1957.
