R. J. Daniels was a UK fan from Coventry active in the 1940s. He was a member of the British Fantasy Society and had he been a bit slower off the mark he would have the distinction of being the last known person to join. As it is, he can only claim to be the penultimate 'Beefasm', D. R. Smith's peculiar coinage for members of the Society, allotted the membership number 130. Clifford Russell occupied whatever the opposite is of pole position as member 132. What happened to member 131? It may be that there are some fannish mysteries Fancyclopedia can never divulge.
