(June 27, 1944 -- November 16, 2022)
Erik Arthur was a British fan who co-owned the well-loved Fantasy Centre bookshop in London. He had worked in the oil industry for many years before in 1991 becoming a co-owner of the shop, replacing Dave Gibson. The shop had earlier had a reputation for being a little austere, with unfamiliar customers being advised or reminded that the stock was 'all science fiction, you know'. Erik was altogether more sociable and inclined to engage visitors in conversation. The shop closed in 2009 but Erik remained an occasional attendee at London fan meetings and conventions.
