(October 22, 1919 – November 17, 2013)

Doris Lessing was a Persia-born British Nobel Prize-winning novelist who wrote the SF series Canopus in Argos.

In her autobiography, Walking in the Shade: 1949–1962 (1997), she says that a visiting American took her along to The White Horse Tavern and a gathering of the London Circle. The American isn't named but was seemingly somebody known to the group. The event is also undated, but Rob Hansen, writing in Then, deduces it was likely 1952.
