William J. Sarill, a Boston fan active in the 1950s and ’60s, was an early member of The Cult and a “pseudomember” of MITSFS. He contributed to such fanzines as Paul Williams’ Within, and attended Detention, the 1959 Worldcon, and Baycon, the 1968 Worldcon. He was a friend and briefly a roommate of Philip K. Dick’s, about whom he has written many articles.
A biochemist who has worked in nutrition and anti-aging research, Sarill is named on a number of patents. He calls himself a “medical intuitive” and “energy healer” and offers classes in such things as clearing emotional blockages by taking control of the vagus nerve. He also has a business as a “Conservator of Ephemera” such as comic books.
