(July 24, 1895 – December 7, 1985)

Robert von Ranke Graves was an English poet, novelist, critic and classical scholar who wrote more than 120 books. He is probably best remembered for his historical novel I, Claudius (1934), but his 1945 reimagining of the story of Jason and the Argonauts, Hercules, My Shipmate, was once considered to be an essential part of the Basic Stfantasy Library.
