Balticon 56 was held May 27–30, 2022 at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel in Baltimore, MD. The GoHs were Nancy Springer, Jen Midkiff (music), and Steve Stiles (Ghost of Honor). Odera Igbokwe was to be Artist GoH but withdrew. There were a number of further Special Guests.
"A long-time panelist" Stephanie Burke was removed ineptly mid-panel on Sunday after an apparently spurious complaint that she broke the code of conduct by her talk at the Friday panel “Diversity Readers and Why You Need Them”. This caused much furore followed by partial apologies from the chair Yakira Heistand and Programming Head Lisa Adler-Golden who had yelled at Burke; for details see https://file770.com/tag/balticon/
