(????–)

Yao Haijun (姚海军) is editor in chief of the Chinese prozine Science Fiction World, a position he’s held since 2010. He’s been an editor at the magazine since 1998, when he was hired by previous editor Yang Xiao. The magazine is based in Chendu, China. He also edited the Work of World SF Masters and other book series.

Yao’s interest in sf dates back to his school days on a farm in Yichun, Heilongjiang Province, when a math teacher lent him a novel, and he was inspired to publish China’s first fanzine, Nebulae (星云), in 1989.

In 1990, Yao established the Chinese Science Fiction Readers' Association.
