Dr. Ian R. McAulay, a Belfast, Northern Ireland fan active in the 1950s and ’60s, was co-editor, with Walt Willis, of Hyphen, beginning with issue 25. He belonged to ISFA.
He married Olivia McAulay in 1962. He later moved to Dublin in the Republic of Ireland.
