James Raymond Frenkel is an American fan, editor and agent of SF, fantasy, thrillers, and other books, formerly for Tom Doherty Associates (Tor and Forge Books).
He is married to SF author Joan D. Vinge.
He has edited numerous prominent SF authors such as Joan Vinge, Vernor Vinge, Frederik Pohl, Andre Norton, Dan Simmons, Jack Williamson, and Greg Bear.
He entered fandom in his native New York, spent many years in Madison, WI, where he worked on WisCon, then moved to Arizona and now lives in Nashville.
