Gary Mattingly is a fan, currently based in the Bay Area, who was one of the founders of the Kansas City Science Fiction & Fantasy Society. He later moved to Detroit, and co-founded AutoClave, co-chairing AutoClave 1. He was a Neffer and a director of the N3F.
He was a member of the Wayne Third Foundation and of Cepheid Variable, which he helped to reorganize. He co-chaired Ditto 2 with his second wife, Patty Peters. His first wife was W3Fer Denise Rehse, whom he married June 20, 1975.
