A club at the University of Maryland which began as an open university course on science fiction with Stephen Rynas, a university junior, as the instructor. It seems to have been founded in the late 60s. Doug Fratz published the first few issues of Thrust as its clubzine and Stephen L. Goldstein published at least one issue of Counter Thrust . Fl. late 60s -- 1979.

It was succeeded by the University of Maryland Science Fiction Society which appears to have been a distinct organization.

It ran the Maryland series of Unicons.

Club
This is a club page. Please extend it by adding information about when and where the club met, when and by whom it was founded, how long it was active, notable accomplishments, well-known members, clubzines, any conventions it ran, external links to the club's website, other club pages, etc.

When there's a floreat (Fl.), this indicates the time or times for which we have found evidence that the club existed. This is probably not going to represent the club's full lifetime, so please update it if you can!
