An organization set up at Mexicon 6 The Party to dispose of the @<£>@1400 left over in the Mexicon treasury after the convention series was ended. It was originally named the Mexicon Foundation but to avoid confusion with the Science Fiction Foundation it was renamed the Mexicon Hat. (Though as Dave Langford notes at http://news.ansible.co.uk/a83.html#01, this is odd since " 'SF' and 'Mexicon' are not pronounced all that similarly...")
