Kit Reed (born Lillian Hyde Craig) wrote short SF for the prozines beginning in 1958. She was among three women nominated for the Best New Author of 1958 Hugo.
She went on to also write sf novels and literary fiction, as well as psychological thrillers under the pseudonym Kit Craig.
Her work was nominated for the James Tiptree, Jr. Memorial Award three times and the Shirley Jackson Award twice. She was a Guggenheim Fellow.
