Slash Fiction
Revision as of 14:21, 23 August 2022 by Leah Zeldes Smith (talk | contribs)
Slash fiction is a form of fanfic (fan-written fiction about characters from professional fiction, typically media) featuring a same-sex pair of characters in a romantic or sexual relationship not in the original. Slash, in this context, refers to a virgule sign.
It started with Star Trek “Kirk/Spock” stories at a time when such relationships were very much closeted, and may have been meant to be derogatory toward gays.
