Windycon XVI was a convention held from November 10-12, 1989 at the Hyatt Regency Woodfield in Schaumburg, IL. Guests of Honor: Barry B. Longyear, David Lee Anderson, Beth Fleischer, Mike Glyer. Toastmaster: Bob Tucker. Chair: Lenny Wenshe.
ISFiC began sponsoring guests in this year, Yuri Kagarlitsky, Kathy Tyers, Mitchell Burnside-Clapp.
