Basil Eugene Wells was an American SF writer. His first published story, "Rebirth of Man," appeared in the prozine Super Science Stories (September, 1940).
He was a member of the Western Pennsylvania Science Fictioneers and married to Margaret Wells.
In addition to SF, Wells wrote, fantasy, western, and detective stories for various magazines, sometimes under the pseudonym of Gene Ellerman.
Two collections of his SF stories, Planets of Adventure (1949) and Doorways to Space (1951), were published by FPCI (Fantasy Publishing Company, Inc.).
