Disclave 8 was a convention held May 12-13, 1962 (Mother's Day weekend) at the Diplomat Hotel in Washington, DC. Attendance dropped to thirty-two. It was chaired by George Scithers.

There was a sort of program in that Lin Carter went on and on about Moby Dick. As the crowd would change, he'd recycle.

The list of attendees was impressive: "The Kyles, Lupoffs, Whites, Moores, Silverbergs", Larry McCombes, and Peggy Rae McKnight.
