Janine Stinson was the first winner of a Neffy Award as outstanding fan of the year (2005). Florida resident Stinson is a former editor of both Tightbeam and The National Fantasy Fan (2001-03 and 2006-07) and she has won both the club's President's Franson Award in 2003 and Kaymar Award in 2000. She was president of the N3F in 2007, but resigned part-way through her term.

She published the fanzine, Peregrine Nations from 2001 - 2009. With Bruce Gillespie, she co-edited Steam Engine Time.

She was the subject of a Member Spotlight conducted by Jon D. Swartz and Heath Row in the December, 2009 issue (Vol. 9, No. 4) of The National Fantasy Fan.
